Microsoft is pushing a new update chain that will make Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro more secure.
This update chain is based on the Windows 8, Windows 8 Upgrade Kit, and Windows RT versions, but it also includes Windows 8 Update Rollup and Windows 10 Mobile updates.
The update chain will be available to Windows Insiders on Thursday, April 1, as part of Windows Update Preview for developers.
Microsoft says that the update chain “significantly reduces the likelihood that a user will inadvertently connect to a compromised network by opening a specially crafted email or file, or by inadvertently downloading a malicious file.”
The update will also be available in the Windows Store for the first time.
You can sign up to receive the update by clicking here.
The upgrade chain will not automatically update Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pros, but the update will automatically download and install the Windows 10 version of the Windows Update Rollback.
The Windows 10 Update Rollover is a new feature that can help prevent a malicious software attack on a PC or tablet from spreading to other devices, including other PCs or tablets.
This new update will be released on the first day of Microsoft’s new security plan.
Microsoft will also roll out the update in the coming weeks and months, and it will be rolled out to users as well as businesses that have Windows 10 on their machines.
