CHICAGO (AP) A baby gate, the biggest of the outdoor dog gates at the Chicago park where a mother and baby were attacked last week, has been replaced by a more secure gate with more features.
The gate in front of the Golden Gate was installed Thursday.
The gates at Gate One opened Thursday afternoon and will remain open until 6 p.m.
A woman and a child were attacked by a dog at the park, and the baby’s mother was bitten on the foot and suffered a cut to her ankle, police said.
It was the second time in a month a child was attacked at the gates.
“It’s the gate with the biggest child gate,” said Mark Johnson, an employee at Gate Two.
Gates in front and behind the Golden Gates are equipped with cameras, alarms, flashing lights and motion detectors.
In December, Gate One was locked down and locked to prevent anyone from entering the park from outside.
The Golden Gate has a fence that can be lowered to allow dogs to roam, but it is open for visitors, even those with dog tags.
